Friends and Family gathered at Susamachar Presbyterian Church on October 5th to express gratitude to God for reaching a very important milestone - 100 years of Guiding in T&T.


We were honored to have present San Fernando West MP, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan. She reminised about her days as a guide and encouraged the girls to keep on

100th Anniversary 2014
 
On June 8th, 2014, we celebrated Guiding in Trinidad and Tobago
1914 - 2014
 
In attendance, to mark this milestone in our history book, the First Lady of our Republic, Mrs. Reema Carmona.
The event was held at the Grand Stand of the Queen's Park Savannah
Port of Spain.
Advocacy Training

"It was a bit deep" Senior Guide Semoya said of today's Advocacy Training Session.

"It was fun and entertaining, but when you get into the research about different advocacy leaders [advocates], and we watched the video with Malala, it was really just inspiring"

Her friend Sheanna immediately added, " It really made us want to be more like those people."

GGATT National Cooking Competition
 
Preliminary Round

 

To celebrate 100 years, divisions throughout Trinidad and Tobago will be putting their culinary talents to use for the National Cooking Competition.

At the preliminary round, one unit will be chosen to represent the each division at the semi finals where top contenders will move onto the final round.

The Tacarigua Division of the Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago held their Walk-a-thon and Campfire on Sunday 30th, March.
 
At this event they launched activities towards the revitalization of the Tunapuna Campsite and Guide Hut.

World Thinking Day in Trinidad 2014!!!

 

​​Hosted at the Oasis Garden Terrace in San Fernando on 8th March 2014, WTD was celebrated by over 1000 young guides, guiders and parents. The event's theme was twofold based on the #MDG2 -"Education opens doors for all girls and boys" and the association's 100th Anniversary.

World Thinking Day 2014 in Tobago

 

The theme : achieving universal primary education.

The messages for this theme are: "Every girl has the right to learning so she reaches her fullest potential" and "Education opens doors for all girls and boys".

 

BINGO Night 2014

 

On Friday 24th January 2014, we got together, young and young-at-heart, for an evening of games.

 

Here we are having a fantastic time at our BINGO. "We eventually ran out of cards, and almost ran out of seats. Folks from near and far filled the Providence Girls' High School's hall to the very brim."

Western Hemisphere Regional Conference

 

The 13th Western Hemisphere Regional Conference was held during the period 20 July 2013- 25 July 2013. The venue was Our Cabaña, Mexico.

 

Our President - Mrs. Jennifer Johnson, Guides Chief Commissioner - Ms.Gwyneth Norgriff and PRO - Keva Doyle represented us proudly at this event.

On our 99th Birthday!

We enjoyed a fun day of activities on June 8th 2013. See our Rally and Parade Gallery.

 

 

We began at the Queen's Park Savannah and proceeded to Woodford Square in the heart of our city's capital, Port of Spain.

Tea, Talk and Togetherness

An afternoon spent re-connecting at the Hyatt, Port of Spain.

 

A special occasion and a wonderful time was had by all who attended, to celebrate Guide Patrons- Mrs. Zalayhar Hassanali and Dr. Jean Ramjohn-Richards and to welcome our new Patron - Mrs. Reema Carmona.

 

We took the opportunity to launch our 100th Anniversary Celebrations and our new  website - www.girlguidestt.org
