Guide Month
Guide Month
In 1977 the Executive Committee of the Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago adopted the month of October as Guide Month with an aim of increasing Public Awareness of the Movement i.e.
To arouse awareness and give information on the principles, objectives and general organization of the Movement.
To project a proper and desirable image of Girl Guiding.
To embark on a recruitment drive of Leaders in particular, and supporters of the Movement.
It also provides opportunities for promotion within the Movement, for example
Provision of opportunity for interaction of personnel across the country
For personal assessment at all levels.
Evaluation with a view to improvement of standards.
These guidelines have dictated all the plans for Guide Month and it is hoped that persons who were not clear in their minds about the purpose and focus of the Project will be enlightened and motivated to strive to achieve the goals set and which now form part of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
